Diving in Corsica

Crystal-clear water, hidden caves, colourful reefs and fascinating wrecks make Corsica a Mediterranean paradise for divers.

Corsica offers some of the most spectacular diving experiences in France. Along the island’s varied coastline you will find everything from dramatic rock walls and underwater caves to colourful reefs and shipwrecks with stories from the past. There are dive sites for both beginners and more experienced divers, and the variety is one of the reasons many visitors return year after year.

The water around Corsica is known for its impressive clarity, often with visibility of more than 30 metres, which makes the underwater experience especially memorable. The sea also keeps pleasant temperatures for much of the year, giving good conditions for calm introductory dives as well as more advanced trips along walls, reefs and deeper formations. Several places also offer exciting passages, small caves and professional dive centres around the island with guided trips, courses and equipment rental. Everything is in place whether you want to discover marine life, swim through caves or experience historic wrecks.

Corsica works for both first dives and more experienced trips

You do not need to be a technical diver to have memorable experiences in Corsica. At the same time, the island has enough depth, variety and historic dive sites to appeal strongly to experienced divers as well.

Beginner

A gentle start in clear water

Ajaccio, Porto-Vecchio and L’Île-Rousse are good places to highlight when you want to show a softer introduction to diving, with safe beginner experiences, snorkelling and holiday-friendly bases.

Intermediate

Reserves and variety

Bonifacio, Cerbicale near Porto-Vecchio and Saint-Florent work well when you want to show how travellers can move on to more exciting topography and several types of dives during the same holiday.

Experienced

Wrecks and clear historical character

Calvi is the place that stands out most for experienced divers, especially because of the B-17 wreck and the combination of storytelling, visibility and a dive with a character of its own. Bonifacio also offers a more dramatic setting.
